Writing Family Stories Changes Us

by Memoir Mentor on July 30, 2010

You may find the following inspiring video the kick in the pants you need to get you back to writing your memoir or family history this summer.

There are so many ways to capture family stories. The subject of this video, a young woman named Lesley Graham, is an artist who wove her own artwork into photos and stories about her grandfather, who had recently succumbed to dementia. She published her work in a lovely book produced by Blurb, a well-regarded online publisher.

The video is as much about Graham’s journey of discovery as it is about her grandfather’s story.
