Dawn, I am envious of all these people getting to enjoy your classes in these winter months. I can’t wait until we get you back to ourselves! I know you will be lighting a fire under all of them to do as we are doing from your lessons. Have a great and successful time..After going over all your works and writing about some of them I decided to challange myself and write about my, or (a), life in one page. Of course you know I do, at times, stretch my margins a bit, but it only stretches with my minds ideas you know. Now finished with that page and saying I done it! I am on to finding a new item to write about. You are my inspiration. Jean L

I’m pleased you’re continuing to write even though the class is on hiatus. Good for you. I hope other students follow suit. I just heard over the weekend that a former student–a dear lady who came to class for many years–passed away this month. She was at our spring barbeque. She was an important part of my class for a long time, and I felt badly when she moved away and couldn’t attend anymore. I keep thinking about about the stories she wrote and the genealogy she collected. I’m wondering who in her family will carry on what she started. Things like this really make you realize that we can’t waste precious time if we truly want to write our life story. All I can say is keep at it, Jean. You’re an example for us all.

After doing no writing after class ended I scolded my self and sat down and went over your blog. The lesson of writing you life story in three pages jolted me into action. I knew I had to write it. I knew I needed the experience. After several corrections I now have a finished copy. I am now looking for more inspiration and pushing from your blog and book. I cant let this fall be a waste of precious time in writing. Thank you Dawn. Jean

This was so wonderfully said. I’m envious that you could say all of this in
three pages. It really is a wonderful synopsis of your most important life events. Your grandchildren are so fortunate to have this. It truly is a memory they and their children, your descendents will cherish. They may not realize it right now but one day they will. As the other Dawn, always asks us in class
“Have you shown it to them yet? And what did they think?”
I think what makes it especially so good is It’s so personally written to your grandchildren. All of your stories are so well written and interesting.
This is such a great introduction to your Memoirs. Thank you for sharing.
