I was reminded of a time when my blond, Irish dad joined the neighborhood kids for a short time one late summer evening. I can still picture the grin he always had when he would do something he thought silly. He stood up at home plate, squinting in the setting sun, his blond hair covered by his constant Irish cap, ready to swing at whatever ball George Fox would send his way. He hit it past all our hands.
